The CLC Writing Center wrapped up a week of celebrating National Day on Writing (Oct. 20) on Saturday October, 26th.
To celebrate, we hosted tabling events at all three campuses on 10/21 where students, staff, and faculty filled out fliers letting us know why they write. You can see some of their responses in the slideshow below. We also shared information about upcoming events at the college and new classes for the Spring 25 semester.
Students, staff, and faculty that filled out a #WhyIWrite flier at the tabling event were encouraged to participate in our social media campaign. Participants encouraged to snap a photo or quick video of themselves holding up their #WhyIWrite flier and could either post it to Facebook or Instagram and tag the CLC Writing Center’s pages, or they could share their picture/video with the center staff, and we would post it on our pages. Those who participated were entered into a drawing for a gift card. We’ve been sharing some posts on our Instagram and Facebook pages (feel free to give us a follow and some likes there!)
We also had a “Visit the Writing Center Raffle” where students who worked with a writing tutor in-person and online from 10/20-26/24 were automatically entered into a drawing for a gift card.
A big congratulations to our Social Media Blitz winners
- Jacqueline G. (Category: CLC Writing Tutor)
- Marsha H. (Category: CLC Faculty/Staff)
- Daisy R (Category: CLC Student)
And congratulations to our Writing Center Raffle Winner:
- Abhinav M. (winner of the Writing Center Visit Raffle)
We also want to send a big, warm thank you to everyone who participated in our events! We are looking forward to celebrating National Day on Writing again next year!
