To celebrate International Writing Centers Week, the CLC Writing Center is planning several activities to promote writing center work and to raise awareness about our writing center services and upcoming events. Here are two opportunities for CLC students:
International Writing Centers Week Raffle
If you haven’t been to the writing center yet, this week is the perfect time for you to schedule a session. If you work with a writing tutor any time during IWC Week (2/10/25 – 2/15/25), you will be entered into a drawing for one of three $25 Amazon gift cards. You can work with a tutor at any of our three campus locations—Grayslake, Southlake, or Lakeshore—or you can schedule a Zoom or e-mail session.
ESL/ELI Conversation Circles
If English is not your first language and you want to improve your listening and speaking skills, try out one of our Conversation Circles. This semester, the CLC Writing Center, in collaboration with the ELI and Adult Education ESL departments, is facilitating weekly Conversation Circles for English Language Learners (ELLs) at all three campuses.
All participants in our Conversation Circles this week (both new and returning) will be entered into our raffle.
