Created in 2006 by the International Writing Centers Association (IWCA), International Writing Centers Week focuses on promoting and celebrating writing centers and writing center work in schools and communities across the United States and internationally.
CLC has been celebrating International Writing Centers Week every year since 2009 and we have some exciting events planned for 2022. We hope you will join us.
IWC Week Raffle
Work with a writing center tutor at any time during IWC Week (2/14/22 – 2/20/22) and you will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Amazon gift card. This applies to both in person and online sessions and all three campus locations. Note: You don’t need to fill out anything to be entered and there is only one entry per person. That is, whether you work with a tutor once or multiple times during this week, you are only entered into the drawing once.
IWC Week Scavenger Hunt
Complete the following three tasks during IWC Week, and you will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card to the coffee shop of your choice (e.g., Starbuck’s, Dunkin Donuts, Something’s Brewing, Drip and Culture, etc.).
- Like or Follow two (2) out of our four (4) social media accounts: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Tik Tok.
- Take a selfie or a screen shot of yourself with a tutor [on any campus or on Zoom], post to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, and tag the CLC Writing Center.
- Enroll in the Canvas course: CLC Writing Center (if you’re already enrolled, you’ve completed the first task.)
IWC Week Celebrations
Our writing center staff will be celebrating IWC Week at all three campuses: Grayslake, Lakeshore, and Southlake. Stop by any of our tutoring center locations to learn about how we can help you as a writer. While you’re there, have a treat and take our #TheWriteStuff photo challenge. Hint: It involves a photo frame, a giant pencil, and the opportunity to win a prize.

In addition, the CLC Writing Center will be staffing a promotional table on Student Street at the Grayslake Campus on Wednesday, February 16th to spread the word about the writing center to CLC students and staff. There will be informational flyers, more candy, and an additional chance to take part in the #TheWriteStuff photo challenge. Stop by between 10:00 am – 1:00 pm or 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm and learn how the CLC writing center can help you!
