Our Mission Statement
The College of Lake County’s Writing Center, a center for writers and writing, serves the entire CLC community with an emphasis on assisting student writers from all CLC courses. To reflect our mission, we strive to 1) offer numerous writing-related resources to students, staff, and faculty across campus, 2) use interactive conferences to encourage student writers to become more confident, self-aware, and empowered as they participate in academic and other discourse communities, 3) explore and apply innovations in writing center theory to the benefit of writing center patrons, and 4) provide valuable paraprofessional experiences for CLC students who work as peer tutors.
