Writing Deadlines Looming? Upcoming Tests to Study For? Class Work That Needs to Be Completed?

Getting writing done can be hard in the best of times. We know. The CLC Writing Center team is here to help, and this semester we’re opening up our writing-focused event to include any academic work you have to do (and are putting off!).

What’s Night Against Procrastination?

Night Against Procrastination is a community event where writers join together to get writing done—whether it’s for an hour or two hours or four—and help to keep each other accountable.  The idea is that when you are working with a group of fellow writers, it is easier to fight procrastination and keep your butt in your chair and your hands on the keyboard.

This fall, we are taking over the Tutoring Center and expanding our event to include any course at CLC. That means we won’t just have writing tutors on hand for support but other subject tutors as well. The main idea remains the same–we are providing spaces (including a quiet room) and accountability to get work done as well as snacks and door prizes.

In addition this semester, we will have a resource room open next to the Tutoring Center that will focus on handling end-of-semester stress. Representatives from CAPS will be there and several student clubs will be staffing tables with de-stressing activities.

Just a reminder, that our CLC Night Against Procrastination is open to any CLC students, staff, or faculty who want to make progress on work they’ve been avoiding.
