What’s a Write-in? A Write-In is a community event where writers join together to get writing done—whether it’s for an hour or two hours or ten—and help to keep each other accountable.  The idea is that when you are working with a group of fellow writers, it is easier to fight procrastination and keep your butt in your chair and your hands on the keyboard.

We are joining writing centers from across the United States and abroad to offer space and support to encourage writers to tackle (and not procrastinate on) end-of-semester writing projects.   Our virtual CLC Write-In is open to any CLC students, staff, or faculty who want to make progress on a writing task.

Logging Time Spent Writing and Door Prizes:  Of course, we want to give you some incentive to keep writing.  For every hour you spend working, you will earn a ticket to our drawing for a $75 Amazon Gift Card. If you attend both nights, you have a better chance of winning.  In addition, we will be doing drawings for door prizes throughout the evening on both nights.

Proof of Participation E-mails:  If you are a teacher and you’d like to encourage your students to participate, we can provide proof of participation.  If you are a student and you want us to let your teacher know you attended, just give us that information when you first sign in.

Need a writing tutor?  There will be one writing tutor available to do quick mini-sessions of up to 15 minutes, if you have a quick question or get stuck.  However, this event is not to provide extended hours for the writing center but rather is an opportunity for you to get writing done.
